Kaitlyn was born in Eugene, Oregon, and raised on the outskirts of Sweet Home. Her journey to Calvary started in college, during a time when she was desperately seeking community. Calvary soon became her home away from home. After spending two transformative years interning at Calvary, living in the House of Charis, diving deep into all the behind-the-scenes action, and growing spiritually - she is thrilled to join the Real Life staff as of 2024 alongside her husband, Nicholas. Their mission is to create a welcoming environment for students from all corners of the world. Kaitlyn's main focus on staff is to connect with students at Oregon State University. Her days are filled with planning engaging events for students to connect with others, one-on-one discipleship, co-hosting Bible studies for international students, and helping those eager to serve and discover their God-given gifts and talents.
In her downtime, Kaitlyn is all about enjoying the great outdoors and staying active - whether that's fishing, hiking, or just savoring a cup of really good coffee. She loves baking, meeting new people, and finding any excuse to stay on the move. Kaitlyn's favorite Bible verse is Habakkuk 3:17-19; a reminder to praise the Lord even if circumstances don't look as anticipated - He will not fail:
"Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer's; He makes me tread on my high places."
